How to Get Around:

Chetpet is located 130 kms south west of Chennai and 40 kms away from the temple city called Tiruvannamalai the head quarters of the district.

Route from Chennai to Chetpet
It connects four important towns, namely Vandavasi, Gingee, Polur and Arni. People can have easy access to it from all these towns and from any part of the country. The exact google map location as follows WayToChetpet.

If you want to travel through train then the nearest major railway stations would be Katpadi or Villupuram. Other small junctions would be Thiruvannamalai and Polur where occasional trains are available.

The nearest Airport is Pondicherry & Chennai from there you can either rent a car or catch-up with bus or train.

Facilities and Amenities:

The church itself provides a rental room where also find some good hotels and lodges in Chetpet, the charges are of on an average side and you can get good Veg and Non-Veg foods. If you are planning for a day or more - you can also rent the vessels and prepare your own food too! St.Thomas hospital is the nearest hospital which is well equipped and has a good reputation.

A Temple in Gingee Fort
Gingee: 

Don't miss the famous Gingee fort if you are interested in archaeological site. Gingee has a very old history associated with it and it is about 20 kms from Chetpet. You can access the place through a well connected NH or through bus.


Paragliding in Yellagiri
Yelagiri:

If you want to do something cool and have an unique experience then Yelagiri hill station is the place to go for where Paragliding is available! Don't worry, trainers will accompany you during the ride:)

If you have a day or so, then you can take a ride to Podicherry which is a french colony and a 2hr drive from chetpet. Known for his beaches & resorts you can enjoy the scenic beauty, go skating, have some yummy french foods and relax yourself in Arovil!


Other places of interest would be Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary,  Javadhu Hill and Sathanur Dam which is very near to Chetpet.
